Many of us have been here for years, and we’re proud of that. It means we know our guests, and know how to make every visit feel special, whether you’re here for a quick coffee or a weekend away. Great hospitality comes naturally to us – it’s what we do.
Meet the team
James McFarlane
Born and bred in Huntingdon, James started his hospitality career with us before gaining wider experience and returning to lead the team. He oversees everything that happens under our roof. His perfect pairing? A chargrilled ribeye and a big, bold Tuscan red.
Luke McKenna
Luke has been part of The Old Bridge family for over eight years. Rising through the ranks, he now leads our kitchen with passion and purpose. His food is led by the season, packed with flavour, and full of pride in the brilliant local producers we work with.
Josh Howells
Josh began his career here, left to hone his skills, and came home in 2024. He’s a calm and creative force in the kitchen – his philosophy is simple: great food doesn’t need to be complicated, it just needs to taste amazing.
Alison Morrison
Ali arrived at The Old Bridge after a very successful 25-year career with British Airways. After starting as a waitress in our Lounge & Bar, she is now the ever-welcoming heart of our team as the Deputy GM. When she’s not leading the hotel, she’ll be out walking the dog from one local pub to another!
Sarah Whitelock
Sarah knows The Old Bridge inside out, from her early days on reception to managing the Business Centre and now leading our weddings and events. She’s the person who makes celebrations here run like clockwork. Her idea of a good day? A beach walk, beef Wellington, and a glass of South African Chenin.
Cyril Bray
Cyril has been part of the heartbeat of The Old Bridge for many years. He brings a dash of classic French hospitality to every event and service, running our dining room and private events with care, charisma, and impeccable timing.
Jake Smith
Jake trained at The Old Bridge for several years before running other pubs locally and in London. Jake returned in 2022 and has now been promoted to Assistant General Manager. He recently got engaged to partner Georgie in one of his favourite wine regions – the Veneto!
A little bit of history
In 2023 Chestnut bought The Old Bridge, and the same charm remains under their care. The Hoskins helped shape it into the place you know today – restoring rooms, reviving the gardens, and creating new spaces to eat, meet and unwind. It’s something we’ll always keep at the heart of what we do.
The Old Bridge continues to evolve, but the spirit stays the same: welcoming, thoughtful, and quietly full of character. It’s a place people return to, not just for the food or the setting, but for the feeling they get when they walk through the door.
